Dinner rolls

This is my standard dinner rolls recipe that i make for every occasion.  Everyone of every age loves them. Overtime I am invited somewhere I bring those. If you are looking for the recipe for dinner rolls this is the best!

Prep time 10 minutes
Cook time 25 minutes
Serving: 16

Ingredients

  • 1 cup + 1 tablespoon  warm water
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 1/2 teaspoons vegetable oil (2tbs)
  • 3 1/4 cups bread flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

I combine all the ingredients in my bread making machine and let it rise. If you don’t have a bread machine, mix yeast with warm water and 1 tsp of sugar in a small bowl.  When the yeast starts to react producing bubbles, pour the mixture into the large bowl.  Then add the remaining of the sugar, salt, oil, butter, egg and the flour.  Mix everything together, cover with a dry towel and let it sit for about 2 hours in a warm place.  I would recommend put it somewhere  close to the stove.  When the dough doubles in size, it is ready.

Take the dough and roll it into a long cylinder.

Cut the cylinder on two halves, then cut each half onto eight parts.

Take each part and make 16 dough balls.

Put all the balls in 9×13 baking pan and let them rest for 20 minutes.

Bake in 350F for about 25-30 minutes, until the rolls are golden.

When I get my rolls out, I like to butter their tops, so they stay soft on the outside as well as on the inside.
